Versioning and history
How Privacta manages document versions and how to access the change history.
Automatic versioning
Every change to a document is automatically saved as a new version, with timestamp and author of the change. You can’t lose data: previous versions are always recoverable.
Comparing versions
From the document record you can select any two versions and view the differences highlighted in a readable way, useful for tracking how a policy evolves over time.
In the event of an external audit, the version history proves that documentation has been kept up to date over time — an implicit requirement of the GDPR accountability principle.
